SMILE! I SEE YOU!
I looked at the Meiji Bench Microscopes for awhile. Now I can actually look threw one.
YAY!
Infatuated with all the Techno-ogy.
Hence this Techno Classic Gem of a Tune.
(LOOKED quite awhile for this track)
“Nervous Acid” by Bobby Konders.
Anyways this should help with the making of minute details on the custom master pieces that I love to create.

I came up with this crafty idea to make the scope more versatile by being able to move it easily to another part of the shop.
I built this small bench annex with wheels for easy mobility and Velcro straps to secure it to its location.

Ivory Mountain Bracelet.
The tag line that I like so much in the song “This Must Be The Place” David Byrne
“There was a time Before we were born, If someone asks, this where I’ll be . . . where I’ll be”
* see previous post for Video *
Bottom line to this post right up front;
I am very thankful to have the opportunities to create and use art for a living. AND for People that let it happen!
Recent old school photos began to show up on the facebook site and in conjunction with all the thoughts that you go thru designing & creating a piece that is this involved (it’s an emotional roller-coaster) the lyric;
“The less we say about it the better”
May apply here, but the emotions & implications of ;
“Make it up as we go along
Feet on the ground, head in the sky
It’s okay, I know nothing’s wrong, nothing”
Is so true, you have the concept in your head but…….. getting it to where it’s potential is…
“Its Home”
Is where the ups and downs make it a Journey,
“Feet On The Ground” (your skills that have grounding, Foundation,……things you know.)
“Head In The Sky” (your imagination that leads to new things and ways,…. things that could be!)
The artist knows everything about the piece of the creation, every design implication;
Intelligent design…. It did not just evolve itself into being a functional bracelet.
The “Mountain” Motif that was used all over this piece is so very significant.

Your feet on the ground but…. Your Head/Heart OH So close to the Sky/Heaven.
Looking at those school pictures of myself, I think ….
“That little boy had no idea he would be so blessed in life”.
You look back on the signs, the clues and the “How Did I Get Here” pictures and it can be very enlightening.
I guess I have always been a little different, jean shorts, shoes not like everyone else on the basketball team (unheard of !)
Fashion statement I suppose. #88

Yellow Yamaha shirt on “Dress Nice Get Your School Picture Day”…..
A Yamaha would be my first motorcycle within a few years later, but……… a prophecy still none the less of things to come for me. RinnDinnDinn-RinnnDinnnDinnnn-nn, It had an Expansion pipe with no baffle, Man was it loud Lol.
I missed the 6th grade pictures because we moved when my parents split up, but that year I met a wonderful teacher in my new school that loved to sketch, she saw that I was fascinated by it and taught me the foundations of sketching,
The artist in that little boy was finding his way.
That year I also came to Know & Trust Jesus Christ as my Saviour, My Creator!
“Did I find you, or you find me?”
He knows EVERYTHING about His Creation and I’ll trust Him to lead the way.
I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Psalm 139
Thanks for letting me share some thoughts on what’s happening “Now & Then” & the privilege of making this bracelet.

The constellation is once again coming into balance; thoughts are aligning in a cohesive way as to express the present state of being.
Thus the song selection speaks on a higher level….
For some reason I like to share thoughts ( communicate ideas) through songs…other words getting ready to tell you…
“Whaz up”.

Autumn Wind; a change of wind direction and magnitude.
This ring started with a concept and had to go through some changes before it was Magnitudious!
I find it refreshing to be inspired & guided with creative freedom.
My application of the inspirational value of these “Wind” pieces is; like the question asked “what color is wind?”
The “Wind” inspiration theme has been a good challenge, what really is at the CORE when you think of how do you relate to wind?
This life in which we live can be like the wind, one minute, a nice calming breeze, and the next…Well, you know…..
One thing in life is constant; Life is always changing!

My late Granddad liked to make things; like wind chimes, I still have 2 at home, I love to hear the wind move them.
I also had a unique experience when my Grandfather passed from this earth, we never leave the windows open at home, but this one night in September we did. I awoke with a very heavy sense of my Grandpa; my thoughts were permeated on him, I got up to close the window as the cool north wind had become quiet crisp, and very quilt worthy.
My thoughts then directed me to check on my two young sons that were fast asleep; the voice in my head rang with a very familiar expression
“Take good care of them”
as I pulled their blankets up to snug them in, all the time with a sense that my grandfather was with me.
We received the call later that he had passed, I asked “what time”, and then I knew he had stopped by. His spirit was not in the cool, crisp wind, but the autumn wind does remind me of him greatly.
I love to make jewelry; it can be a great reminder of loved ones and special times as well.

7.50 carats of Pear shape labradorites in Tear drop settings. Round diamonds total .30cts 14kt. white & yellow gold.
The open window cut out designs has great significance in dream interpretations as well.
“Art is the process or product of deliberately arranging elements in a way that appeals to the senses or emotions. It has been defined as a vehicle for the expression or communication of emotions and ideas, a means for exploring and appreciating formal elements for their own sake.”
Here Is The Way It Started, But It Wasn’t Putting Wind In My Sails.

A great lesson on how an artist
is able to put the emotional inspiration & thoughts
into some form of a creative outlet.

“Elements”
The group has to be complete it seems before I can move on; find that extra motivation dealieo (2nd wind).
Yes, back to the elements theme.
Earth Water, Fire… and now…. Wind.
If you could see the wind, what color would it be? Think about it!
Wind..Humm, that’s a toughie! Sooooo…..I designed two rings.
Rachel Zoe; to be so into elegance, her speech and language was anything but!
I was disappointed in the fact this seasons show had little to do with style.
I do like to step away and see the big picture though and gain wisdom from the time spent. If any thing it reaffirmed two things I already knew;
OK…maybe 3…Refresher courses are often needed.
(1) METALLIC COLORS in the fashion industry are just BLOWING everyone away this season…
And now for the practical application…..
(2) TAKE CARE OF YOUR HEALTH, what good is having a business that you can’t enjoy it because of too much stress.
(3) Running a business is no BREEZE (Not Easy).
What really is having a business about anyway, is it not to earn/provide a living by offering services and or products?
BASICS….HELLO!
As they say, “Check Your Ego at the door”. You can only do so much!
So I decided to FLOW WITH THE CURRENT fashion trend on these new creations
(get it? “Wind” current!). Yeah, yeah….Ok!
It’s really about the Black and White (BASICS)…Eh, Maybe a bit of gray scale too.
Designing in Black & White has its issues…
Like There’s NO COLOR!
This One Is Called “Breeze”
These “Oversized RockStar” rings are a BLAST to make.
37 Millimeters or 1-7/16th inch. Long.
31.77ct. Tourmalated Quartz, Sterling Silver.
Reminds me of a song….Kansas “Dust In The WIND”
LYNARD SKYNARD (use your southern drawl when you say that pardner) Has a cool one also called guess what? “THEY CALL ME THE BREEZE”
2nd “Wind” Ring coming up…just a tad bit of Tweaking to do……

Had the privilege of hosting a couple of great teenage kids for a few days that were visiting from Saint-Sebastien, France.
They spoke much better English than my French
(which is only a few words.. bon appetit, areva derche, ok so maybe areva derche is technically Italian)
It was fun talking to them.
It was a pleasure and like teens all over the world, driving an automobile is a big deal, they can not get a drivers license until the age of 18 (still about a year to go).
Thought it would be neat to fabricate a couple of personalized
“Le Key Rings” souvenirs to take back to France.

Apprécier & au revoir
For more about thier trip, The local newspaper did an article.

The inspiration in creating these “Element” pieces was to;
“Get back to the basics”.
A rekindling of the Fire or Passion I have for creating interesting
“Unique” Jewelry.
Creating pieces that cause people to take that second look in which then it’s hard to turn away and not look closer.
Realizing a Passionate person created what they are seeing.
In some way I hope to inspire and encourage someone to be passionate about something…… SHOES, health, or little sweet dachshunds.
Life in general I hope!
“People need passion” as Rod Stewart says in his song…..Ok, maybe he had something a LITTLE different in mind there, but you know what I mean?

Fire is one of the four classical elements in ancient Greek philosophy and science.
It was commonly associated with the qualities of energy, assertiveness, and passion.
In one Greek myth, Prometheus stole fire from the gods to protect the otherwise helpless humans, but was punished for this kindness.
The ancient Greeks distinguished the destructive (aidelon) fire; associated with Hades, from the creative fire, associated with Hephaistos.
“Every act of creation is first of all an act of destruction.” Pablo Picasso

Sterling Silver, 14kt. Yellow Gold, Trillion cut “Hot Pink” Tourmalines, “Galaxy” Drusy Quartz,
I liked this one because it has a lot of pink glitter though not seen so well through the camera lens.

Take a big cleansing breath…..& repeat.
OMmmmmm….OMmmmmm.
Imagine deep crystal clear water!
“Water”
Refreshing / Cleansing, having a reviving effect.
To make like new; to give new life. Spiritual.
The waves of Scallop design on the undercarriage reflect the idea of the Moons (Moonstone) influence and energy to propel the Oceans and Seas to constantly keep moving and changing the landscape.
The Rachel Zoe Project (through my rose colored glasses) is all about the art of style.
A lot of her design inspiration seems to draw from the past masterpieces.
Combining the Vintage influence with the Chic-est cutting edge look.
Versatility is very important I believe.

A well designed piece from the past leaves its mark on tomorrows wave of creative inspiration.
as to say;
Brilliantly created am / was I,
Special? Yes indeed!
Fresh as a cool, crisp fall rain shower.
Truly Unique, Timeless.

Then of course there is the beautiful Rainbow
(Rainbow Moonstone) as a great promise of tomorrow.
The vintage aura of this piece gives respect / homage to the past, to those that have stood the test of time.
Life requires times of refreshing.

Ever wonder what creative process designers use to find inspiration?
I just designed some new work. Thought I might have a little fun before I fully reveal them to the world.
Ok… one of my favorite TV shows is running now (LA Ink) on TLC and two more are getting ready to air,
“Project Runway” Aug. 20th on Lifetime
“The Rachel Zoe Project” Aug. 24th on Bravo.
If you can get past all the entertaining drama there is a wealth of information on inspiration technique.
Here is how I see it; LA Ink…
There is a story behind the art. Emotions, memories, statements of expression all motivate the client and artist to create art, right?…
and since I’m a fan of surrealism, the symbolism that a visual piece can communicate about a thought is fascinating.
( getting DEEP into the mind thing)
. A… yeah… right….
That is if you’re into the art world or some kind of astral projection meditation dealyo.
ANYWAYS…..
All the shows are design oriented and have parallels to my world.
I’m trying to get the bugs worked out of the new site by the time the other shows air. I’ll have three new pieces up for sale in the shopping cart area..YEAH!.
So between now and then I’ll give glimpses of the new pieces along with the thoughts and inspiration details…
It’ll be jolly good fun, you’ll see.
We have all had those times in our life when you start thinking
“what the heck am I doing here?”
My youngest is just starting college today…That could have something to do with all this.

These designs I call “Elements”
They express/ communicate the thought of getting back to the basics.
Introspection of “what does life require?”
The first of the designs I wanted to create with a simple architectural shape and a color palette that would reflect in contrast the nitty gritty concept of …
“Most everything worth doing in this world takes hard work!
Just deal with it!”
The Architectural idea representing “There is a plan”,
experiencing that plan is the wonderment called “LIFE”;
It would be a shame to waste the God givin gifts He has blessed us with.
It may look simple but this piece defiantly had its challenges, just like life.
I believe one key to realize in life is;
What is your gift? and how do I use that gift as a tool for good in helping others find joy and purpose.
“Surrealism is destructive, but….
it destroys only what it considers to be shackles limiting our vision.”
Salvador Dalí
“Earth”
Looks like Chaos in there!
Chaos? Think about this;
These gem stones have a destiny
and a story that has touched many lives already!
Huh,huh, what about that?
Was there a plan for this gem…
before the creation of the Earth?
